Here, an update of how things are going.
The production of the prototype “Tordenskiold” goes well, as you can see on the pictures, the aft pontoon’s hull will soon be finished.
Our model “Fladstrand” is, for the winter, moved to “Knivholt Hovedgård” in Frederikshavn.
They have created an energy path that is aimed educating and information.
The company that should produce our electrical panel has not delivered as we had agreed therefore the offshore trials are postponed. We continue work onshore with the PTO system.
A short film showing a little of the stuff we have been working with recently.

Ingeniøren (The Engineer) has published a very nice article about the Crestwing project and the half-scale prototype to be built this year! Click link below
Energinet.dk has this year invested 10 million kr. into constructing the half-scale prototype. Crestwing has because of this received some publicity on the website www.energy-supply.dk and Nordjyske paper. You can read both the articles by clicking the links below!
Thank you for the past year.
Crestwing looks forward to a very busy year the work will include:
- Building the prototype, as we have received grants from energinet.dk
-Renovation of our Fladstrand model and relaying it with el-cable.
We look forward to see you in 2015!
The Crestwing model has now been out on the ocean, on and off for three years, and through this period there has been carried out a really exciting development. It is now nearly time to cobble the model to the electricity grid, which means it will start delivering electricity. Almost all preparations for cobbling to the grid has been made, but a minor leakage in the model has delayed the process slightly. It is currently in port for repair.
The Fladstrandmodel is now out in Kattegat again, this time with PTO-system and measurement equipment mounted! We are excited now everything is ready for the most complete offshore test so far.
A webcamera has been mounted by the model, so now we can LIVESTREAM the test. You can now go in and have a look at the model any time any day.
The model will be connected to the power grid, and both the videomaterial and the
measurement data will be used for projecting the big Crestwing.
A little video, Speeded up and with music, where the "Crestwing" model named "fladstrand" has its power take off system reinstalled.

Our model is now pulled ashore again and will be prepared for inserting the power take off when the tests at Ålborg university are finished.
We are happy to tell you that the scale 1:5 model was launched just outside the harbor of Frederikshavn last Friday. The Seaflex anchoring system is now installed safely on the seabed and connected to the model.
In a few weeks Crestwing intend to take the model (not the anchoring system) onshore and install the PTO inside. The model will then be reconnected with the anchoring, and the whole system including PTO will be tested together. This is something we've been looking forward to.
We have created a small video with footage from the launching.
The Power take off is now removed from the model and brought to Ålborg University. During the next one and a half month the Power take off will be mounted in a test bench and undergo a measurement program. The PTO will first in May be mounted in the model again for the offshore tests. We are looking forward to this work.
Crestwing has decided to postpone putting the model out for testing, and we have taken the model ashore again, where we will test the PTO through the next months at Ålborg University. In addition, we will make improvements on the device and engine room. Meanwhile we are working on projecting the prototype. We are looking forward to the work.
We will keep you updated through the spring about the activities at Crestwing and when the plans for offshore testing in Kattegat is decided.
We thank you for your interest in Crestwing and look forward to the New Year where we will launch our model and mooring system in Kattegat by Frederikshavn as quick as the weather allows.
After a year where things have taken longer time then desired we look forward to the many activities we have planned for the project in 2014.
Happy New Year see you!
